Our farm is not currently certified as organic, but we continue to remain all natural with no hormones, additives, or anything weird. We do use sustainable practices. No synthetic fertilizers, or insecticides are applied to our crops! Most crops are grown from organic-non-GMO seed, started right here on our farm. We are maximizing our resources in order to offer this many options and All Natural is the way to go for us.
What we offer and Why:
Deep Roots farm wants to provide healthy food for you and your family sustainably and healthily, the way God intended.
HOW IT WORKS
Every Monday at 12 pm, we will post a photo of that week’s $25 Brown Paper Bag in our website’s Shop, Facebook, Instagram, and a weekly email announcement. Customers will have until Wednesday at 12 pm to place their order.
NO Hassel.
Deliveries: YOU choose between drop-off 2 locations in Mason and Oakley Area. Address for each location, along with specific times allowed for pick-up can be found under each locations’ respective description in our Shop. Place your order, pick up your Bag. $25. It’s as simple as that!
WHY THE BUY-IN?
A Community Sponsored Agriculture program- Preorder Bag is the best way for us to pursue our goal. The PreOrder Bag fronts costs that the farmer normally has to borrow funds for at the beginning of the growing season. This creates cash flow during the critical time to get all the offerings planted and growing, as well as continue to grow the farm with sustainable infrastructure. Check out our website for how your funds directly affect what we are able to offer each year and the long term improvements we are tackling.
The list below outlines some of the vegetables and fruit we hope to deliver, and when you might have in the bag.
Each bag we will shoot for 6-7 different fruit and vegetables.

Some lettuces and greens, tomatoes, tomatillo, crooked neck yellow squah, zucchini, beets, cantaloupe, carrot, cucumber, muskmelon, potatoes, rosemary, sweet potatoes, watermelon

We are not doing the White Broad-breasted Turkeys again this year. We have chosen the Heritage variety. They are slightly smaller but we will be keeping a few at the end of the season to reproduce for the next year. They are beautiful birds and dress really well roasted. We successfully have begun breeding on the FARM!!!
Three Locations: (Times TBD)
Notes:
***If pre-ordered turkeys are no longer available at the end of the season due to attrition or a failed crop, the pre-ordered funds will be refunded in full.
***The $20 Brown Bag will not be handled this way. Based on numbers from previous years the low estimate is 6-7 vegetables or fruit for that week..
No refunds on the fresh produce. However, if you move from the area during the season and are unable to pick-up your goods, a pro-rated refund will be issued on a case by case basis at the sole discretion of Deep Roots Farm.
Sharing in the RISK OF CROP FAILURE
We promise to do our best to provide a bountiful bag each week. The quantity of produce, however, may vary from week to week or month to month. Due to weather, we may cover one crop for another that is currently producing to keep the amounts consistent throughout the season. We may also purchase from another farm for variety or to supplement. We only partner with other farms with similar growing practices.
Sharing in the REWARD OF CROP SURPLUS
In the event of a bumper crop. (Which will be fantastic!). Additional crops will be available for purchase via our web store or on site at the farm. We may also choose to wholesale to other local vendors. You may see products not received with the $20 Brown Paper Bag. This is normal as some products go directly to market. Although they are usually available as add ons during harvest.
